Donald Davis - (b. 1950) is a Califomia
sculptor whose classic approach to stone carving sets him apart from
his peers. His designs rise from the base with a naturalness not often
associated with hard stone. His white cararra marbles emit warmth,
countering the smooth, cool surfaces. Another part of Davis also
creates architecturally inspired shapes that resonate with strength and
a clarity of constructed vision. His technical prowess in carving
inspires awe from fellow sculptors around the globe.
Davis is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, and a veteran
of many trips to the fabled quarries of Italy. His ability to interpret
and read stones is legend.
Davis has a solid list of public, corporate and private clients,
including government buildings, corporate headquarters, hotels and
ocean liners, as well as distinguished private homes and retreats. His
work ranges in size from a foot high to 18 feet. He is available for
commissions on a select, qualified basis. Prices run from $5,500 to
35,000 for works presently in inventory. Commissioned prices depend
upon site-specific requirements. Please browse the images and contact
